Welcome to The Sheiling, Machrihanish

Wonderfully situated in the village of Machrihanish, Campbeltown. The Sheiling is a golf and beachcombers paradise.  Over looking the "World famous Machrihanish Golf Course" it is only a 5 minute walk from the "Best 1st Tee in the World" and miles of white sandy beach.

Overview

The Sheiling is a bright spacious bungalow with views from its bay window towards the Islands of Islay and Jura and is set in its own well maintained garden with large outbuilding to store golf clubs, surf boards and fishing rods.

The famous Machrihanish Golf Course is one of the finest and most popular "links style" golf course in Scotland and the newly opened Machrihanish Dunes is the first links golf course to be built in over100 years and is the only golf course to be built on a site of special scientific interest being only a 15 minute drive away. As Machrihanish Dunes is built on Mrs Barrs husbands farm she has all the up to date information freely available to visitors.

Accommodation

Set in the tranquil surroundings of Machrihanish the Sheiling has two well maintained gardens, one at the rear of the house with outdoor furniture to allow you to soak up the sun and views towards the hills, there is also the option to lounge in the front garden and take in the
stunning scenery over the golf course out to sea. The bright airy bungalow has a lounge to the front of the house with colour T.V, video rec. videos, cd's and well stocked bookcase, but its
main feature is the large picture window where you will want to sit and admire the ever changing mood of the sea and marvel at the glorious sunsets.

There are three bedrooms , 2 double rooms and 1 twin-all linen and towels are provided for your stay and extra blankets for the cold winter nights are kept in the warm airing cupboard.
The dining room has a bay window and dining table with six chairs.  The kitchen also has wonderful views towards the hills and cattle some times grazing in the fields just over the wall, the kitchen may be small but it fully equipped with everything you require on holiday, elect
cooker, fridge and washing machine.

The bathroom has an electric shower and has been recently refurbished to the highest standard.
 

Prices

£300-£600 per week plus elect.  typically Sat-Sat

Short stays are also available and winter weeks can be as little as £200 per week plus elect.

All enquiries for what ever length of stay are welcome as we aim to please.

Location

Campbeltown is the nearest town with amenities which include swimming pool, gym, library cinema, owl sanctuary, Linda McCartney Memorial Garden, Campbeltown Loch but the whiskey is found in Springbank Distillery.  If you don't want to cook while on holiday we provide an information book with recommended places to  eat also included are places worth
visiting, craft fares and Farmers market dates and local crafts men/women worth visiting which will hopefully add to the enjoyment of your stay. Emergency Numbers are also included.
As well as families we welcome well behaved pets.

March - We had a wonderful time the weather has been excellent and we will never forget the a,axing views from The Sheiling especially from the huge picture window in the lounge.Some great walks through the woods at Tangy,up to High Lossit and beyond to The Kintyre Way.The most spectacular The Dolphins playing in the sparkling seas at Machrihanish.

We've had a great week.Absolutely amazing weather.The Sheiling is lovely with great views. we really enjoyed all the wonderful beaches and Seeing the seals and goats at Machrihanish. this is an absolutely beautiful place. Thankyou for a lovely week
