Glenbarr is a small, picturesque village which lies
12 miles north of Campbeltown and 24 miles south of Tarbert.
The main road, the A83 bypasses the village but a trip through
'the old road' is very worthwhile. The village has a well
stocked shop, post office and garden centre and Glenbarr Abbey
[Visitor Centre] just south of the village is home to the Clan
Macalister. A short trip into Barr Glen takes you to Arnicle
with its bed and breakfast accommodation and equitation centre.
About 1/2 mile south of Glenbarr is Killegruer Caravan Site which
caters for touring caravans ,motor homes and tents.
