Carradale is one of Kintyre's
many gems! The village lies on the east coast of Kintyre
and enjoys wonderful views over to Arran. The village
has a striving community with numerous activities going on
from week to week. There are a number of walks in the
area too.
Carradale is a popular holiday village and busy fishing
harbour. Carradale lies at the centre of a network of forest
and coastal walks with varied wildlife including many species
of birds, several types of deer, and the poisonous but timid
adder. It has a safe, sandy beach, from which Carradale Point
can be accessed, rich in flora, and home to Wild Goats.
A challenging 9-hole
Golf Course in the village is well worth a try.
Carradale is a very
suitable stopping off point for cyclists using the 'Sustrans'
route, being roughly mid way between Campbeltown and Claonaig.
